What if we have car(s) parked in the driveway?

We are able to work around all vehicles as all of the work is completed using hand shovels and snow blowers.  We do appreciate you moving vehicles, though we do not require that of you to complete your property.

Are you able to have my property done before 7am?

Our service standards are not based on time of day as any given winter storm will end at various different times.  If a storm ends say at 7am, it is physically impossible to service all of our properties before 7am.  Any reputable company that guarantees service in such terms would be questionable.  Our service standards are based on hours following the end of a snowfall.  We typically complete all of our properties within 8-9 hours for an average snowfall.

how much snow do we need before you commence snow clearing services?

This is typically based on a minimum 4cm accumulation of snow. That being said, lesser amounts can result in snow removal operations depending on whether a smaller accumulation will lead to icy conditions or make it more difficult for subsequent servicing to occur. It is our intention to keep properties safe at all times. If we have a dry trace amount (eg. 1-2cm) of accumulation, typically servicing will not occur unless this could pose a future risk from melting and freezing etc. Similarly, if we receive trace amounts one after the other that result in a 4cm accumulation, then snow clearing operations will deal with such an event.

Is there a risk of damage to my property, curb, driveway, or otherwise?

There is virtually no risk to your property, driveway, or otherwise since we only use hand shovels (no metal edges) and snow blowers.  Our service ensures a safe environment throughout the winter for you and your family.

I've heard that using salt can do harm to my concrete stairs, aggregate driveway, etc.   Is this true?

The truth is that salt or any other de-icer all run the risk of causing the same kind of damage to any porous surface that can absorb melted ice water.  What causes damage to these surfaces isn't the use of salt in particular, or some mysterious chemical reaction; indeed the reason the surface becomes damaged is due to the expansion of water molecules.  When melt water is absorbed into a porous surface (e.g. due to the application of a de-icer) and temperatures are cold enough to cause this water to freeze after it's been absorbed, you get expansion within the material itself causing it to crack and break from the inside out.  Typically, the more porous the surface, the more susceptible it is to this process.  Sealants tend to alleviate this as a prevalent issue.
